The Nintendo Wii has had its downs and ups. Whether it was offering games that formerly were dull and dull and changing them into exciting and fun new installments, or their infamous sensor remote controls crashing through a game-player’s television, the Nintendo Wii has come a long way.
The Wii is quite a new and worthwhile gaming system with which ought to be experienced. There are loads of games, from old school to the new. Mario Kart, Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3, and Wii Sports are just a few of the released titles.
Good : it gets you up and moving. Almost all of the Nintendo Wii’s games are very interactive games. You can run, you can jump, you can trip and fall on your face or, if you get tired, you can easily sit down to a not so contemporary game and just chillax.
For different games, different controllers are needed. However, that doesn’t mean you need to dish out another forty dollars for a new controller. There are “holders” of sorts which hold your original Wii remote and simply play. Most of these holders also come with the game in which they are played with. (I recently saw one for Link’s adventure that came with a cross-bow holder. Pretty awesome, huh?)
Cons : The controllers. If you mistakenly forget to the wrist strap, they can simply go flying into your TV, gaming mate, neighbor’s window, mouse’s water bowl, and so on. Also required is a charger to charge your Wii’s controllers. The chargers actually are about 40 greenbacks, which after dishing out a good 250-300 dollars for the console is a bit intimidating. However, an alternative is to buy rechargeable batteries and a battery charger and simply switch them out. issues could also arise. The Wii is twice as fun when played with a friend, or even multiple friends, but some of the more interactive games might provide a problem in crowded places.
Pros and cons aside, the Wii is definitely a worthwhile investment, and is fun for all ages. Old folks, young children, teens, anyone can play the Wii. (This is proved by my 70-year-old grandfather who in all honesty plays the Wii more than his younger grandchildren for whom he bought the Wii for. His particular favorite are Wii Bowling and Golf.)
So you have to be pondering-how many games just are there for this game console? For real, it’s fairly new ( compared to most, with the exception of the Playstation three ). Based on Wikipedia, there are over 400 games. Another site says there are more than 450 now on the market. The Wii was launched into orbitwith approximately twenty games in 2006.
